January 20, 2010 The Moon is Watching....
My 1st graders have been reading verbs with _ing endings. I read "Five Little Penguins Slipping on the Ice." The students drew winter scenes and pasted the words "slipping, sliding, sledding, skating, and playing" to identify those activities in their drawings. One artist drew the moon enjoying watching the rollicking fun!

January 11, 2010 One Heavy Cam
On Christmas Day, 1985, we were thrilled to be given this video camera so that we could record our baby son's antics! As years went by, and the original battery needed to be replaced, we discovered that the new battery would not fit into this machine! I have fond memories of carrying the new battery, and feet of orange extension cord, through the yard as my husband filmed Easter egg hunts!

January 3, 2010 We Three Kings
We three kings of Orient are; bearing gifts we traverse afar, field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star. O star of wonder, star of light, star with royal beauty bright, westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light.
