January 22, 2010 Deja Vu

I spotted this car on 30th Street and couldn't believe it! Thirty-two years ago, I bought a Pontiac Grand Prix that looked just exactly like this one.

January 20, 2010 The Moon is Watching....

My 1st graders have been reading verbs with _ing endings. I read "Five Little Penguins Slipping on the Ice." The students drew winter scenes and pasted the words "slipping, sliding, sledding, skating, and playing" to identify those activities in their drawings. One artist drew the moon enjoying watching the rollicking fun!

January 11, 2010 One Heavy Cam

On Christmas Day, 1985, we were thrilled to be given this video camera so that we could record our baby son's antics! As years went by, and the original battery needed to be replaced, we discovered that the new battery would not fit into this machine! I have fond memories of carrying the new battery, and feet of orange extension cord, through the yard as my husband filmed Easter egg hunts!

January 7, 2010 "Is it cold in here, or is it just me?"

This jolly fellow entertained us through the holiday week by speaking to us whenever we opened the fridge door! He would admonish us to not let out the cold air! His 37 degree existence is nothing compared to the -12 degree windchill we are having today!

January 6, 2010 Grandma B's Birthday

This is my dear grandmother, Bernadine, circa 1944. She was born on this day in 1902. Today also happens to be the 12th Day of Christmas...12 drummers drumming. It is fitting that both of her sons grew up drumming to jazz!

January 3, 2010 We Three Kings

We three kings of Orient are; bearing gifts we traverse afar, field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star. O star of wonder, star of light, star with royal beauty bright, westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light.

January 1, 2010 Cat Prints

In an effort to help break in my new Canon All in One printer, Gecko remained as up close and personal as possible! Sniffing helped, but, in the end, staring down the machine did the trick!
